Confidentiality & Privacy Policy

 

We are a HIPAA compliant practice where your privacy and confidentiality are both respected and protected. The law protects the relationship between patient and doctor, and information cannot be disclosed without signing a release of information form.

 

Exceptions include:

• Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which we are required by law to report immediately to the appropriate authorities.

• Threats of bodily harm to another person or persons.

• If a patient intends to harm himself or herself, we will make every effort to enlist their cooperation in ensuring their safety. If they cannot cooperate, we are obligated by law to take further measures without their permission, as safety is paramount. 

Fee Policy

In order to provide you with the maximum control of your records and privacy as well as freedom of choice in selecting the professionals with whom you work, our Independent Psychologist are not participants on any insurance plans. We will provide an invoice for the services which can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. We are considered “out-of-network” providers, and your insurance will reimburse you at a rate based on your particular plan. We cannot guarantee that your insurance company will reimburse you for services, as plans vary. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to discuss the benefits of your specific plan prior to scheduling services.
